Résumé : A certification that recognizes high energy efficient performance of retrofitted buildings has
shown an increase of interest in this type of refurbishments, even more if this recognition is
supported by public bodies and can lead to certain advantages.
Based on this, the idea of the proposed project consists on providing the necessary technical,
social and financial tools for successful implementation of a new voluntary system for Energy
Certification of nearly-zero energy retrofitting of buildings to gradually encourage the
transformation of private existing building stock.

Résumé : The "Green Label" project aims at encouraging the purchase of energy efficient appliances to reduce households’ carbon footprint, through information and advice provided at the purchase point, using innovative solutions (based on ICT) aimed particularly at young audiences.
The following activities will be implemented:
1. Creation of a Smartphone App to be used at the purchase point, that can compare the higher cost of an energy efficient product with the savings due to the reduced energy consumption through the lifecycle of the product.
2. Development of an online training course aimed at retailers, so they can provide advice on the economic and environmental consequences of purchase decisions. Retailers that pass the examination will be granted a “Green label”.
3. Itinerant information campaign (The GREEN GENIUS) at purchase points (to encourage retailers to take part in the training course) based in the use of the developed App and in the concept of Genius Bar at the Apple Stores.
4. Communication, Evaluation and Project Management. As required by the call, the project is developed as a PILOT, so much effort is put on transferability. The activities will take place in two different EU countries.

Résumé : The project "Virtual Community Hubs" is seeking ways of addressing this gap by investigating the role that ICT social media, web 2.0 and smartphones can play in recreating a meeting place but doing so virtually, thereby reducing the need for mobility and opening up services in rural locations. Each partner will develop a virtual community website model using a ‘bottom-up’ approach which will then be piloted with a number of communities. These pilots will then be evaluated, benchmarked and compared transnationally to establish a best practice model for virtual community development which can be transferred across the partnership and beyond.
