The Association for the Promotion of Alsace (APA)
A network of conviviality and expertise active in Brussels since 1979, APA is comprised of native and adopted Alsatians wishing to promote the development of their region through their knowledge of European and international affairs.
The Alsace Office
Representing Alsatian regional and consular bodies to the European Union, the Office opened its doors in Brussels in 1990. It ensures consistency in the representation of its partners’ interests, relying on the support of APA-Service, a creation of the APA.
The Alsace-Europe Observatory
The Observatory maintains ongoing debate on the role of Alsace in tomorrow’s Europe. Led by APA and the Alsace Office, it mobilises Alsatian decision-makers around a regional development strategy in a rapidly changing Union.
Promotion
The Alsace Office represents its partners’ interests in dialogue with the European institutions through its membership of French and European networks and its direct contacts with public officials in charge of policies and programmes of relevance to its partners.
Information
The Alsace Office keeps an information watch on matters of interest to its partners and acts as an early warning system on EU policy developments likely to have an impact on its partners’ development strategies.
Nerve centre
The Alsace Office is the nerve centre in Brussels for Alsatian missions and delegations or partners. It provides traineeship opportunities throughout the year, training modules in Brussels and in the region, and logistical support for events and meetings.
Support
The Alsace Office monitors the progress of its partner organisations’ policy proposals and projects with the European Institutions. It provides support in terms of guidance, advice and liaison.
